Zero Tolerance Policy
To ensure a safe and enjoyable playing environment for all players, participants and spectators, we support the SBA in implementing a Zero Tolerance Policy for our Junior Domestic Competition.
All members of the Sunbury Braves Basketball Club take on the responsibilty of behaving in a proper and decent manner.

Code of Conduct
The Sunbury Braves Basketball Club promotes playing basketball for enjoyment in a competitive spirit, while encouraging self-confidence and development in all areas of the game.
All members of the Sunbury Braves Basketball Club take on the responsibility of behaving in a proper and decent manner.
The use of profane language, harassment or abuse from players, coaches, officials or spectators will not be tolerated in any way.
Parents
- Encourage your children to participate for their interest, not yours.
- Encourage children to always play by the rules
- Teach children that an honest effort is always as important as a victory.
- Focus on developing skills and playing the game. Reduce the emphasis on winning.
- A child learns best by example. Applaud good play by all teams.
- Do not criticise yours or other children in front of others.
- Accept decisions of all referees as being fair and called to the best of their ability. Abuse of referees is unacceptable behaviour.
- Set an example by your own conduct, behaviour and appearance.
- Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person.
- Show appreciation for volunteer coaches, officials and administrators.
- Keep children in your care under control. Keep young children safe and off the court during games.
- Always respect the use of facilities and equipment provided.
Players
- Understand and play by the rules. Breaking the rules will result in consequences for you and your team.
- Respect referees and other officials.
- Control your temper.
- Work equally as hard for yourself and your team.
- Be a good sport. Respect the opposition and accept any loss gracefully.
- Treat all players as you would like to be treated.
- Play for the fun of it, not just to please parents or coaches.
- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person.
- Be prepared to lose sometimes, be a fair winner and a good loser.
- Listen to your coach’s advice and apply it at training and in games.
- Always respect the use of facilities and equipment provided.
